Bank Holidays 2021: Banks to remain closed for 21 days in November; Know all the dates

Beware! If you are thinking of visiting your bank branch in the month of November, then you should know that all the banks will remain closed for 21 days out of 30 days on the month of November.

According to the bank holiday list released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), there will be 13 working days and 17 bank holidays in the month of November, 2021. However, the holiday list may vary from state to state.

But, you don’t have to worry as you can always do bank transaction through online banking during the holidays as they will continue to work during the holidays.

For example bank branches in Bihar will remain closed for Chhath Puja but not closed for Wangala Festival being observed in North-eastern states.

Out of the 17 bank holidays in  November, 11 holidays are of celebration and the remaining 7 days are weekend leaves (all Sundays along with the second and fourth Saturday of the month). The RBI’s list of holidays falls into three categories such as state-wise celebrations, religious holidays and festival celebrations.

Reserve Bank of India places its Holidays under three categories–Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act, Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday, and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.

2. November 3: Naraka Chaturdashi
3. November 4: Diwali Amavasaya (Laxmi Pujan)/Deepavali/Kali Puja
4. November 5: Diwali (Bali Pratipada)/Vikram Samvant New Year Day/Govardhan Pooja
5. November 6: Bhai Duj/Chitragupt Jayanti/Laxmi Puja/Deepawali/Ningol Chakkouba
6. November 10: Chhath Puja//Surya Pashti Dala Chhath (Sayan ardhya)
7. November 11: Chhath Puja
8. November 12: Wangala Festival
9. November 19: Guru Nanak Jayanti/Karthika Purnima
10. November 22: Kanakadasa Jayanthi
11. November 23: Seng Kutsnem

The second and fourth Saturdays, Sundays of the month are falling on the following dates:

1. November 7 – Sunday
2. November 13- Second Saturday of the month
3. November 14- Sunday
4. November 21- Sunday
5. November 27- Fourth Saturday of the month
6. November 28- Sunday
