Baripada: At least nine people sustained injuries after a vehicle carrying band party staff from a wedding function overturned at Sunapal chack under Udala police limits in Mayurbhanj district today.
All the victims in the accidents have been identified as the residents of Athapada in Udala Tehsil in Mayurbhanj district.
The victims had gone to perform a wedding ceremony which was held in Udala area last night and was returning after it this morning. Near Sunapal Chhak one of the rear tyres of the vehicle suffered a burst causing the vehicle to slip off the road and overturn into a nearby field.
Getting intimated on the road mishap Udala Police rushed to the spot and admitted the injured to Udala Primary Health Centre (PHC) for treatment later. A few critical of them were later shifted to Mayurbhanj DHH.
Police have seized the mangled vehicle and started investigation.
