Balasore: Miscreants looted cash from the Allahabad Bank in Parikhi area under Sadar police limits here in the district after breaking open shutter late Tuesday night.
The exact amount of money that was looted last night is yet to ascertain, Sadar police said.
According to reports, the locals spotted the broken shutter this morning and informed the police as well as bank officials.
Mobile phone shop, owned by Manu Mandal, as well as Photo studio of Bijan Parida in the same locality have also been looted on the New Year night, police added.
Meanwhile, the locals staged road blockade in Parikhi protesting the loot.
The Sadar police have begun investigation into the matter and launched man haunt drive to nab the culprits.
