‘Balangir din’ observed in Odisha’s Balangir

Balangir:  ‘Balangir din’, literally which means Balangir Day is being observed today in this western Odisha district. On this occasion the prime deities of the town Goddess Pataneshwari and Maa Samleshwari were offered special alati in their respective shrines in Balangir. Besides, a rally was organised to commemorate establishment of the district in which members of many cultural orgainisation took part.

Balangir district came into existence in 1949. To commemorate this historical event residents of this western Odisha districts are observing ‘Balangir Din’ today, reports said.

A rally was orgained on this occasion where youths, man, women from different social organisations took part. Balagir day will be observed at the old Koshal Kala Mandal pandal, reports said.
