Puri: The Dhadi Pahandi rituals of Lord Jagannath and his siblings began amid religious fervour on the auspicious occasion Bahuda Jatra.
The Trinity are being brought out of the Gundicha temple in procession amid loud chants of ‘Jai Jagannath, Hari Bola and noises of conchs and ghantas by lakhs of devotees.
Lord Sudarsan was the first to be brought out of the temple followed by Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.
Till the filing of this reports, the holy Pahandi rituals of Lord Jagannath had already begun.
After the completion of the Bahuda Pahandi, the Chhera Panhara rituals will be conducted between 2 PM to 3 PM ahead of the chariot pulling at 3 PM.
After an eight-day stay in the Gundicha temple, the divine siblings will return to the Srimandir. They will halt at the Mausima temple where the deities will be offered ‘poda pitha’ made of rice, jaggery, coconuts and lentils.
The ‘Suna Besha’ of the Deities will be held tomorrow.
