Puri: The Deities – Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra returned to their abode today, as devotees pulled their Chariots from Gundicha Temple to Singhadwar during the Bahuda Jatra.
The Bahuda Jatra concluded ahead of the schedule. The return of Deities marked the end to the 9-day festival of the Lord and his siblings’ stay at their aunt’s place – Gundicha temple.
The Chhera Panhara rituals in front of Chariots Taladhwaja, Nandighosh and Debadalan were completed by Puri Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb followed by pulling of Chariots by the devotees.
On the way, the Trinity made a brief halt at the ‘Mausi Maa’ temple to taste the ‘Poda Pitha’. The Suna Besha of the Deities will be held tomorrow.
