Babusan, Elina bag best actor award at 8th Ruchi OFA-2017

Bhubaneswar: The 8th Ruchi Odia Filmfare Award (OFA) which was held amid star packed performances at the Exhibition Ground in the presence of Bollywood diva Raveena Tandon, awarded Babusan as the Best Actor and Elina Samantray as the Best Actress for the year 2017 on Sunday.

Babusan and Elina got laurels for their brilliant performances in the Tarang Cine Productions’ Hero No. 1 and Abhay movies respectively.

Similarly, the megastar of yesteryear Bijoy Mohanty was conferred with Lifetime Achievement Award for his lifelong contribution to the Odia movie industry. He was presented with a cash prize of Rs 25,000 along with a trophy and a citation.

The OFA event sponsored by White Canvas event management company was inaugurated in the hands of Odisha DGP RP Sharma and in the presence of Income Tax Coommissioner Sarat Kumar Das. It started off with a mesmerising catwalk by the Addiction Group members and unveiling of the OFA trophy by Ruchi Foodline Director Arabind Sahoo.

Awards were given in total 28 categories of which 12 were gone to the hands of Tarang Cine Productions. Bollywood diva Raveena Tandon who entered to the state on the second phase of the award ceremony went down the memory lanes and shared her experience during long Bollywood career.

Among others, veteran Odia movie actor Pradyumna Lenka was awarded as the Best Multitalented Actor along with newcomers Swaraj and Bhumika as the Best Actor and Actress (Jury Choice) respectively. Similarly, Manoj Mishra (Best Actor in a Negative Role), Pappu Pom Pom (Best Comic Actor), Tapas Sargharia (Best Director), Baidyanath Das (Best Music Director), Arun Mantri (Best Lyricist) and Debidutta Mohanty (Best Screenplay) were others who got awarded during the event.
