Balangir: In yet another distressing incident, an auto-rickshaw driver was killed in a road accident near Paintala square on Balangir-Subarnapur road on early Friday.
The victim has been identified as Suresh Deep.
As per reports, Suresh was in his own auto-rickshaw and was plying near Paintala square. Another unknown high-speed vehicle hit the rickshaw killing Suresh on the spot.
The locals blocked the road in demand for compensation and in protest of the mindless accident. They were demanding for a bypass road for Balangir so that an accident like this can be prevented in future.
The local police arrived on the spot and took the body for autopsy. They also attempted to bring an end to the road blockade.
