Auto-Car Collision in Sonepur: Odisha CM announces ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced an ex-gratia to the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the auto-rickshaw and car collision that took place on NH-57 in Sonepur early this morning.

Reportedly, it has been directed that the families of each of the deceased will receive Rs 2,00,000. Adding to it, the Chief Minister has also directed to provide free medical aid to the injured immediately.

CM Naveen Patnaik extended his deepest condolences to the family members.

Notably, the auto was en-route from Balangir to Sonepur for selling vegetables was hit by an Ertiga car. The auto driver was in conversation with a bike rider on the roadside when the car collided with the three-wheeler. Three out of eight vegetable traders in the autorickshaw lost their lives on the spot while others sustained critical injuries. Likewise, the bike rider has also sustained injuries.

All the deceased people have been identified to be residents of Raghpalli area of ​​Balangir district. Notably, a police uniform having one Snigdha Rani Suna name written on it has been found inside the vehicle.
