Attabira, Hindol NAC goes to BJD

Bargarh/ Dhenkanal: The state ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) emerged victorious in the elections which were held in Attabira Notified Area Council (NAC) in Bargarh district and Hindol NAC in Dhenkanal districts.

The BJD clean swept the Attabira NAC polls by winning all the 12 wards.

Santoshini Mukwana (Ward No. 1), Raghunath Barik (Ward No. 2), Deepanjali Borasagar (Ward No. 3), Tribikram Dash (Ward No. 4), Jyptirmayee Gadatiya (Ward No. 5), Banamali Bariha (Ward No. 6), Jyotirmayee Dash (Ward No. 7), Manoj Kumar Pradhan (Ward No. 8), Arati Nayak (Ward No. 9), Sureswari Pandey (Ward No. 10), Prakash Pradhan (Ward No. 11) and Gunia Sahu (Ward No. 12) are the winner in the Attabira NAC.

In the Hindol NAC, BJD registered victory in 13 wards out of 16, while BJP won in one ward, independent candidates pocketed the remaining two wards.

BJD’s Rita Pallai (Ward No. 1), Pradeep Kumar Behera (Ward No. 2),  Tapan Kumar Parida (Ward No. 4), Rina Behera (Ward No. 5), Subah Chandra Behera (Ward No. 6), Pallau Dehuri (Ward No. 7), Rashmita Sahu (Ward No. 8), Labanga Dei (Ward No. 9),  Pradyumna Kumar Behera (Ward No. 11), Tima Behera (Ward No. 12), Basumati Sahu (Ward No. 13), Bijay Dash (Ward No. 14) and Ramesh Chandra Sahu (Ward No. 15) won in the Hindol NAC.

Independent candidates Inayat Ullah Khan and Shyamghana Bhutia won in Ward No. 3 and Ward No. 10 respectively, while Bijay Sahu of BJP grabbed the Ward No. 16 of the NAC.

The counting of votes had started this morning. Voting for the two NACs was held on April 3. As many as 55 candidates contested for 16 wards of the Hindol NAC while 38 candidates were in the fray in the Attabira NAC.
