At 44.8 Degree Celsius, Sonepur hottest as 9 places record maximum temperature above 43 Degrees in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Blistering heatwave conditions swept Odisha as the mercury breached the 43 degrees Celsius mark in 9 places of the State on Thursday, informed the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

According to the weather department, Sonepur was the hottest place in the State as it boiled at a temperature of 44.8 degrees Celsius. Sonepur was followed by Balangiri and Titlagarh where the day temperature rose to 44.5 and 44.4 degrees Celsius respectively.

The other places where the maximum temperature hovered above the 43 degrees Celsius mark are Jharsuguda (43.4), Sambalpur (43.8), Hirakud (43.5), Bhawanipatna (43.5), Bargarh (43.6) and Malkangiri (43.5).
