Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths arrested Dillip Kumar Bisoi, Assistant Section Officer (ASO) who is posted at Engineer-in-Chief (Civil) office here in a bribery case on Wednesday.
According to reports, the anti-corruption team caught Bisoi red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 8, 000 inside the premises of the Account Section office, here.
Dillip had demanded the bribe from one Jatiranjan Ganapati Dehury of Karanjiapada village under Patna police limit of Keonjhar district, who had applied for an -A-Class contractor licence.
In this connection, a case (No12/19) has been registered at Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS.
The Vigilance officials also conducted a search in Dillip’s house at E/49/5, Rental Colony of the state capital city.
The accused will be forwarded to the Court later today, informed sources at the Vigilance department.
