Assembly Polls: Odisha CM congratulates winners, says results show the mood of the nations
Bhubaneswar: Reacting to the election results of five states – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram- Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today congratulated Congress, Mizo National Front (MNF), Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and others for winning in the election, results of which were announced today. Besides, Pantnaik said that the results show the mood of the nations.
“I congratulate the Congress, the MNF and the north-eastern parties for their success in the elections. It clearly shows the mood of the nation. These states are agrarian states. The BJP government at the Centre more or less ignored the recommendations of Swaminathan Report and loan problems of the farmers. This led to the results in Assembly Elections in several states,” said Patnaik whiles peaking to the reporters this evening.
“As I said often before, the BJD remains equidistant from both BJP and the Congress party,” added the CM while responding to a query over the possibility of an alliance or the ‘Mahagatbandhan’ ahead of the 2019 general elections in Odisha.
Naveen further said, “Though we have extended issue-based support, we remain equidistant from both BJP and Congress. There is no firm ‘Mahagatbandhan’ now and let’s see what happens in future.”
