Asian Games: Odia sprinter Jauna Murmu enters Women’s 400m hurdles final

Bhubaneswar: In a magnificent knock for Odia woman sprinter Jauna Murmu at the ongoing Asian Games at Indonesia’s Jakarta, she made it to the final of women’s 400-metre Hurdles on Sunday.

Jauna made her place in the ultimate round by clocking 59.20 seconds in the Heat No. 1, in which she came fourth.

Notably, Jauna is among nine women and three athletes from Odisha who are representing India at the Asian Games-2018. Odia athletes are participating in a set of events including Athletics, Badminton, Hockey, Gymnastics and Rowing.

Apart from Jauna another athlete from India Anu Raghavan also reached final of the 400-metre hurdle by finishing third in Head No. 2.

India is currently placed at the 8th spot in the medal tally of the Asian Games-2018 after bagging 29 medals which includes seven gold, five silver and 17 bronze.
