Bhubaneswar: Asian Athletics Championships-2017 (AAC) Mascot ‘Olly’ Turtle returned to Bhubaneswar on Thursday after completing the statewide roadshow.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik welcomed ‘Olly’ with a bouquet at the State Secretariat.
Many others including Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi and students of Ramadevi Women’s University also greeted ‘Olly’ on its return to the city.
On June 12, Patnaik had flagged off the roadshow vehicles carrying the mascot at Kalinga Stadium.
‘Olly’ was extended warm welcome by people of all walks of life during its visit to all the district headquarters. It generated awareness among the masses and created a sense of belonging to the 22nd Asian Athletics Championships scheduled to be held at the Kalinga Stadium here from July 6 to 9.
