ASI Alleges Assault By IIC In Police Station In Sambalpur

Sambalpur: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police working with the Kisinda police station in the district has alleged the inspector in charge (IIC) of the police station of assaulting him.

The ASI Biswajit Panigrahi alleged that the IIC concerned Dharmendra Kumar Santi denied him to go on leave. “I have applied for leave to see my ailing mother. But the IIC tried to tear the letter and when I tried to prevent him he punched me,” alleged Panigarhi.

The ASI also alleged that he was suspended after he reported the matter to the SP. “Though I reported the matter to the SP he suspended me instead of taking action against the IIC. I was also not taken for a medical examination,” alleged Panigrahi.

On the other hand SP, Sambalpur, Sanjeev Arora said that they have already started a probe to ascertain the veracity of the allegation made by the ASI.
