Aryabhatta Foundation to Organise ‘Padyatra’ To Promote Afforestation

Bhubaneswar: With an aim to create awareness among people for promoting afforestation and conservation of trees, Aryabhatta Foundation, a Berhampur-based NGO, is going to organise a ‘Padyatra’ in Bhubaneswar and Puri on Sunday.

The rally will start from the station square (Master Canteen Chowk) at 9 am and will pass through Raj Mahal Square, Kalpana Square to end up at BJB College Road at about 12 pm.

Again, the ‘Padayatra’ will take place from 3 pm to 5.30 pm at the Badadanda in the temple town Puri.

Speaking about the event, Sudhir Rout, the founder of Aryabhatta Foundation said that this ‘Padyatra’ aims to convey the message of protecting the environment by planting more trees, by conserving water resources and by eliminating polluting.

“Trees are integral for the existence of life and it is our duty to plant more trees and promote afforestation,” he added.

Noteworthy, the Aryabhatta Foundation has been tirelessly working in the realm of environmental protection by planting thousands of trees every year and taking their care, besides creating awareness regarding the need for afforestation.

The organisation has also been spreading awareness regarding the menace of polythene and plastic, besides educating masses about the need to conserve water resources.
