Kendrapara: An army jawan has been arrested by police for allegedly assaulting a sub inspector (SI) inside Pattamundai police station in the district.
As per reports, the Army jawan Manoj Sahoo was arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by the SI Biswajit Bhoi.
Police said that a clash took place between two villages over some issue on Wednesday following which two separate complaints were lodged with the Pattamundai police station.
Police later called both the parties to the police station for a settlement. “The SI was trying to settle the issue in the police station when words were exchanged between both the parties. Later Sahoo intervened and assaulted the SI,” said a police official.
On the other hand, the jawan denied the allegations and said that it was the SI who assaulted him in the police station.
