AR Rahman arrives in Bhubaneswar ahead of Hockey Men’s World Cup Opening Ceremony
Bhubaneswar: With the Hockey fever gripping the entire Odisha, Grammy and Academy Award-winning musician AR Rahman arrived here this morning.
Soon after his arrival at Biju Patnaik International Airport, Rahman went to meet Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who had invited him for a lunch at his residence – Naveen Niwas.
According to sources, the music Maestro arrived today to have rehearsal with his team ahead of performing at the Opening Ceremony of Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup -2018, which is to be held at Kalinga Stadium on November 27.
Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan will also share the dais with Rahman and perform in the anthem of the Hockey World Cup – ‘Jai Hind India’ – two teasers of which have been already released.
Veteran lyricist Gulzar has penned ‘Jai Hind India.’
Apart from performing in the anthem of the Hockey World Cup, the Oscar award winner will also perform some of his biggest hits including ‘Jai Ho’ from the film ‘Slumdog Millionaire.’ He will also perform at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on the following day as part of the Hockey Men’s World Cup celebration.
This would be Rahman’s maiden performance in Odisha.
