Aparajita Sarangi thanks PM on Twitter for approving her VRS plea

Bhubaneswar: Odisha cadre IAS officer Aparajita Sarangi posted her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on her twitter handle yesterday for approving her voluntary retirement plea as she confirmed it on the microblogging site.

The former Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Sarangi posted:

Sarangi’s application under Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) had been accepted by the Odisha Government on November 14 after being submitted on September 15. She had completed her tenure as Joint Secretary of MGNREGA under Ministry of Rural Development in August this year.

Sarangi, a 1994-batch IAS officer, got widespread acclamation in the state for her bold measures as the BMC Commissioner from 2006 to 2009. She also worked as School and Mass Education Secretary, Director of Panchayati Raj Department, Higher Education Secretary along with Textiles and Handloom Secretary.

Sarangi is most likely to join politics after taking voluntary retirement.
