Anupam Kher lavishes praise on Dr Samanta, KISS

AnupamBhubaneswar: “Dr Samanta has done a great service to the mankind, to people, to education and to tribal children. Hats off to him,” said renowned Bollywood actor and FTII Chairman Anupam Kher during the inaugural function of 3rd Kalinga International Film Festival at the KIIT Convention Centre on Friday.

In an interview to KalingaTV, the veteran actor expressed his happiness over getting a privilege to visit Odisha and meeting the people. Thoroughly praising the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), world’s largest residential institute for indigenous children, Anupam said that the discipline among the children was praiseworthy.

“Making 27,000 children come together at the venue and with such an enthusiasm level is really laudable. I felt very humbled to be among the children and making them happy. Dr Samanta’s efforts are really commendable,” said Anupam.

Being queried over the impact of organizing a film festival of international standard in Odisha, Anupam said it integrates people. People get to know about other cultures and as a result, broaden their outlook through these types of events.

Talking about his experience in the movie ‘Ranchi Diaries’ which is directed by an Odia, Sattwik Mohanty, Anupam dubbed the new director to be a good story-teller and wished him success in his future projects.

Wishing good luck and success to Kalinga International Film Festival in its future endeavours, the veteran actor opined that “every big thing starts small”.

The 3rd Kalinga International Film Festival would conclude on Nov 5.
