Rayagada: In a challenge to red rebels in the state yet again, a number of anti-Maoist posters resurfaced in Kalyansinghpur town in Rayagada district on Sunday.

The posters released by the Rayagada Adivasi Ekata Samiti were seen categorically criticising the atrocities of the Maoists on women, Dalit and youths across the district including those from Niyamgiri Hill area. The Samiti also gave a call to the red rebels to stop killing people in the ‘Praja Court’ suspecting them to be police informers and agents of the Vedanta company.

Put up on the walls of Jagannath temple and Kalyansinghpur High School in the town, these posters also appealed the Maoists to refrain from planting landmines along roads in the Niyamgiri area which poses a massive danger to innocent commuters.

The locals have hailed the initiative of the Manch after the poster release.

On the other hand, Maoists have also put up posters in Paplur area under Chitrakonda block of Malkangiri district on the same day. Through their posters the red rebels have opposed the construction of Kalimela-Karubagaon Road by claiming that it would not benefit the locals in any manner.
