Kendrapara: Close on the heels of the Balangir Radabahal village murder case a day ago in which a 75-year-old woman was charred to death by her son, another man set his aging mother to fire in Shailendra Sarai village in Kendrapara on Sunday.
The accused son has been identified as Sukadev Ojha, son of Fani Ojha of the same village.
As per the report, a dispute occurred between Sukadev and his mother Muktakeshi (76) this morning over some incident. Later, in a fit of rage the accused set his mother afire and raised an alarm to pretending the incident to be a fire mishap.
“While we rushed to the spot to douse the flames my mother had died of grievous born injury till then,” informed the accused’s elder brother Srikant Ojha who has lodged a case in connection with the incident.
Rajnagar Police Station IIC Tapan Kumar Nayak rushed the body for autopsy after reaching the spot and detained Sukadev later.
