Bhubaneswar: Another Low Pressure Area is very likely to form over south Andaman sea and its neighbourhood around November 13, informed regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and become more marked during subsequent 48 hours.
Earlier on Monday, the weather department has predicted that the low-pressure area which will form over Bay of Bengal will subsequently intensify into a cyclonic storm by November 11. The Indian Meteorological Department’s (IMD) global forecasting system (GFS) and National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF) forecast the storm.
The low pressure is very likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm on night of November 10 else November 11 morning.
Although the predicted cyclonic storm will not have a direct impact on Odisha but the coastal areas of the State are likely to receive spells of rain. The predicted storm is likely to make landfall in northern Tamil Nadu as it will head towards Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka.
It is pertinent to mention that the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar has predicted two low pressure areas to form over Bay of Bengal in the month of November. Due to this, Odisha is likely to receive rain during the second and third week of this month.
