Kendrapara: In a shocking incident, Pattamundai tahsildar Dilip Sethi was allegedly thrashed by two angry farmers at his office on Saturday.
The concerned farmers had earlier informed the tahsildar about the existence of an illegal brick kiln on their farmland. They were facing a lot of problems due to the presence of the brick kiln as the vegetable crops grown by them used to get damaged due to the intense heat generated from the brick kiln.
The farmers also had urged the tahsildar to take action against the owner of the illegal brick kiln and shut down it.
Sethi in return had reportedly promised them to look into the matter and take the appropriate action. However, as he allegedly did not take any steps, the angry farmers barged into Sethi’s chamber at the Pattamundai tahasil office and allegedly thrashed him.
Pattamundai police rushed to the spot and detained the farmers. Further investigation is underway.
