Keonjhar: An Anganwadi worker was allegedly raped by an auto driver in Tenteinali village under Telkoi police limits of the district on Friday night.
As per allegation of the victim, an auto driver identified as Susil Naik of Bena village raped her taking advantage of the darkness while she was returning home alone after watching a ‘jatra’ show.
The victim Anganwadi worker informed about the matter to her husband following which the couple lodged a written complaint at the Telkoi police. Taking swift actions, the police arrested Naik.
“We have registered a case after the woman lodged an FIR claiming that she was raped by the accused. Acting on her allegation, we have arrested the accused. Besides, sent the victim and accused for medical test. Further investigation is on,” informed Harish Chandra Pandey, DSP, Keonjhar.
