Balasore: An Anganwadi worker was allegedly beaten and stripped by a group of women of Atasapur village under Bahanaga block in the district on Wednesday.
The Anganwadi worker has been identified as Basanti Mallick.
Sources said, a group of women of the village barged into the local Anganwadi centre and asked Basanti to show them the official register.
However, an argument erupted between them following which in a fit of rage, the angry women thrashed the Anganwadi worker mercilessly and stripped her in broad daylight.
Getting information, Khantapada police reached the spot immediately and started investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, Basanti lodged an FIR at Khantapada Police station in this connection.
