Amit Shah’s Sambalpur visit cancelled due to Pulwama terror attack

Sambalpur: BJP national president’s Amit Shah’s visit to Odisha has been cancelled in view of the Pulwama terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir yesterday, which left 45 CRPF jawans martyred including two from Odisha.

As per a party source, Shah’s all political programs earlier scheduled for today have been cancelled, and new dates are yet to be finalized in this connection. A meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security on the issue is currently underway at New Delhi.

Notably, Shah had to chair a meeting with booth level organisers of four Lok Sabha constituencies of Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Bargarh and Sundargarh as a part of which he was visiting Odisha today.

Had the BJP national president visited Odisha today, it could have been his third visit to Odisha this year and second within 12 days. For the last time, he had addressed a meeting of party’s ST Morcha at religious town Puri.
