Ambulance hits truck, driver killed, 2 critical in Odisha’s Deogarh

Deogarh: Driver of a 102 ambulance was killed while two others sustained severe injuries after it hit a truck from behind at Prabhasuni village of the district last night.

According to reports, the emergency vehicle hit the truck, which was standing on the road, at Prabhasuni village while it was returning to Tileibani area after leaving a patient at Burla-based V.S.S.Medical College and Hospital.

The road mishap was so severe that the driver of the ambulance died on the spot.

Some villagers with the help of the local police rescued the injured persons and rushed them to the Kuchinda hospital for treatment. Later, they were shifted to the Burla hospital as their condition worsened.

While the identity of the deceased driver is yet to be known, police identified the injured person as Titan Gadanayak and Rishab Pradhan.

Police also have started an investigation into the matter.
