All govt school students in Odisha to get free uniforms

Odisha Schools students to get free uniform, bicycle for class IX pupils Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday declared it would provide free uniforms to all students studying in government-funded schools across the state.

The announcement was made by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik while speaking during a state-level function organized by the School and Mass Education Department at Jayadev Bhawan here on the occasion of Teacher’s Day.

Earlier, only students of the below poverty line (BPL) category used get free schools uniforms.

This apart, the Chief Minister announced that bi-cycles will be provided to all Class IX students. Bicycles were earlier distributed only to Class-X students.
