Alert! Alarming rise of Covid cases in Odisha, See details

Bhubaneswar: Amidst the Omicron scare in Odisha, as many as 680 Covid-19 positive cases including 263 from Khordha have been detected in the last 24 hours. The total cases include 119 in the 0-18 years age group have been found, informed the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Tuesday.

Among the 680 positives, 397 are quarantine cases and 283 are local contacts.

However, 146 patients recovered in the State taking the total number of recovered persons to 10,45,255. There are a total of 2888 active cases.

On the other hand, a 50 years old male of Balasore District who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease, Diabetes Mellitus and Hpertension has succumbed to Covid-19 today following which the coronavirus death toll rises to 8465.

It is to be noted that the Covid vaccination drive across the State is underway. On the first day of vaccination for children aged 15 to 18 years, a total of 80,129 teenagers were administered the first dose of vaccine against Covid-19 on January 3.
