Alarming rise in Covid-19 cases in Odisha’s capital city, 400 positive cases detected today

Bhubaneswar: A contrasting rise in Covid-19 cases was witnessed in Odisha’s capital city in last 24 hours. As many as 400 new positive cases were registered in Bhubaneswar on January 6, 2022.

According to reports by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), out of the total 400 positive cases registered today, 38 cases are quarantine cases while 362 cases are local contact cases.

With today’s development the total Covid-19 positive cases have increased to 1,24,854. The recovered cases are 1,22,387. The total deceased cases are 1103. At present, the active Covid-19 cases in Bhubaneswar stand at 1343.

A stark rise in 59 cases were registered in the city today, as compared to January 5. Yesterday 341 covid-19 positive cases were registered in the city.

On the other hand, 93 recovered covid-19 cases were registered in the city today.

As many as 1897 Covid-19 positive cases including 669 from Khordha have been detected in the last 24 hours. The total cases include 258 in the 0-18 years age group have been found, informed the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Thursday.

Among the 1897 positives, 1106 are quarantine cases and 791 are local contacts. There are a total of 5739 active cases.
