Air Marshal DK Patnaik becomes first Odia to fly Rafale fighter

Bhubaneswar: Air Marshal DK Patnaik, Chief of Eastern Air Command, became the first Odia to fly a sortie in the Rafale fighter jet.

The Chief of Eastern Air Command reportedly flew the Rafale fighter at the Hasimara airbase in West Bengal yesterday.

Rafale is considered as the biggest weapon to fight against China as it has the ability to carry nuclear warheads and missiles. This feature-loaded is not there in the most powerful fighter jets of China and Pakistan.

Eastern Army Command chief Lieutenant General RP Kalita, Vice Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta, Air Marshal DK Patnaik and Lieutenant General Ajai Singh had a meeting in Shillong to find out ways and means to strengthen India’s preparation to give a befitting reply to China from Arunachal Pradesh to the Indian Ocean.
