Angul: An ailing woman was carried five kilometres on a bicycle after ambulance failed to reach due to the bad condition of the road at Kantamila village in the district last night.
As per reports the health condition of the woman identified as Minaiti Bagh deteriorated last night for which her family members called an ambulance. However, the ambulance operator denied venturing insider the village due to bad condition of the road.
Without any options left, the family members decided to shift her on a bicycle and later rushed her to Hindol CHC.
Villagers said that they are deprived of medical care most of the times due to bad road condition. ‘The village is located on the border of Angul and Dhenkanal. While the distance from Dhenkanal is 60 kilometres, the distance of the village from Angul will be 39 kilometres. We urge the administration to repair the road,” demanded a villager.
