Baripada: Adding to the growing jumbo deaths in the State, another female jumbo succumbed under treatment at Dubighar forest in Podadiha area in Mayurbhanj district today.
The 40-year-old elephant was suffering from a foot infection.
A few days back some locals had spotted the ailing jumbo in Podadiha area and informed the forest officials. Later, the animal had been put under the care and observation of Veterinary officials.
However, the elephant’s condition started deteriorating since last night resulting in its death by this morning.
