Nilagiri: In yet another case of pachyderm death in the state, an ailing elephant calf succumbed in Khumkuta forest under Kuldiha sanctuary in Balasore district today.
Informing on the baby jumbo death forest officials said, it was suffering from anaemia and was under treatment for past few days by Veterinary officials.
While the calf didn’t show any sign of development its condition deteriorated further since last night despite all efforts of the doctors.
Forest officials have sent the carcass for autopsy making arrangements for the burial.
