Agitating Western Odisha Lawyers Put Stir On Hold For Election

Sambalpur: The Sambalpur District Bar Association which is agitating for the last 190 days demanding a permanent High Court Bench, decided to put its stir on hold today.

According to reports, the general council meeting of the Lawyers’ body was held today during which it was decided to put their agitation on hold in view of the upcoming State Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

After the meeting, the Lawyers’ body informed that all types of petitions can be filed from March 15 while land registration to begin from March 18. The Court proceedings will begin from March 25 to provide emergency services.

It is worthwhile to mention here that the Lawyers have been agitating to demand a permanent High Court bench in Western Odisha since September 5.

Odisha will go to poll in four phases from April 11. The last phase election will be held on April 29.
