After KALIA Scheme for farmers, Odisha CM now announces KALIA Scholarship for their children

Keonjhar:  After launching the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) Scheme for the farmers of the state a little more than a month ago, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced the KALIA Scholarship for the farmers’ children.

Addressing a farmers’ convention in Keonjhar today, Patnaik said that the KALIA Scholarship will be provided to the children of KALIA Scheme beneficiaries who are pursuing their education.

The KALIA Scholarship will help the students (only the children of KALIA Scheme beneficiaries) for undertaking several professional courses in government-run colleges across the State.

“The KALIA scheme of State government is popular among all. The future of farmers depends upon the development of their children. I wish, your (farmers) children become doctors, engineers, lawyers and managers. Therefore, I am announcing the ‘KALIA Chhatra Bruti’ for your children,” said Patnaik in his address today.

 

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated 17 welfare projects and laid the foundation for 47 other projects. Besides, he also approved drinking water projects worth Rs 1,050 crores to supply safe drinking water in the district.
