Afghan Refugee’s Picture Goes Viral, Reminds People Of Amitabh Bachchan!

Due to his uncanny likeness to Indian superstar Amitabh Bachchan, an Afghan immigrant is becoming famous online. Steve McCurry took the refugee’s picture in 2017, and after the American photographer reposted it on Instagram a day ago, it has once again captured the attention of internet users.

Shabuz, an Afghan refugee currently residing in Pakistan, is depicted in the picture. When posting the image to Instagram on Tuesday, Steve McCurry commented “This portrait of Shabuz, an Afghan refugee residing in Pakistan, reminds us of the millions of displaced peoples around the world.”

In the picture, a bearded man is wearing a turban around his head.

Since being shared, the post has received over 600 comments and approximately 78,000 “likes”.
One commenter in the comments section called “Big B’s doppelganger”. ‘Looks so much like Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan,’ said another commenter.

A third commenter made the comparison to Amitabh Bachchan’s appearance in the 2020 movie Gulabo Sitabo, in which the actor wore glasses and a long beard.

!n 2018 rumours that Shabuz’s portrait was taken on the Thug’s of Hindostan set caused it to become popular.
By no means is this the most well know image of an Afghan that Steve McCurry has captured. The portrait of a “Afghan Girl,” taken in 1984 by the American photographer is regarded as the “most recognisable photograph” in the publication’s history.
