Cuttack: An adulterated sauce manufacturing unit was busted by Jagatpur Police near IB road in Jagatpur today morning and have seized huge stock of sauce and the products used.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided the spot and seized equipment that were used for manufacturing fake tomato, chilli sauce. Some bottles containing the sauce, machines, artificial colours and essence were also recovered from the spot.
The unit had been manufacturing adulterated sauces for the last 5 months after lockdown started. These adulterated sauces are being sold in the market in the name of a branded company based in Bhubaneswar.
Later, the police have also detained the owner of the manufacturing unit for further questioning.
