Bhubaneswar: Laxmisagar police today busted an adulterated edible oil manufacturing unit operating in the area and seized huge quantity of adulterated oil and ghee.
Police today raided the unit and found around 1000 litres of impure edible oil with ghee. Police have also arrested three people in this connection.
Police said that the fake unit managed to obtain levels and logos of genuine products from neighbouring state especially Bengal to avoid suspicion of consumers. “The accused used to provide hefty commission to the shops to sell the products,” police said.
On August 29, the Cuttack Sadar police had busted a fake edible oil manufacturing unit in Bamphakuda area at Phulnakhara and arrested the main accused besides seizing around 30,000 litres of adulterated edible oil.
