Adi Guru Pankaj Charan Das Award Festival to be held in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Adi Guru Pankaj Charan Das award festival 2018 is going to be held on 30 and 31, October at Bhanja Kala Mandap in Bhubaneswar. The Adi Guru Pankaj Charan Das Award 2018 will be given to eminent Odissi dance exponent Dr. Snehaprava Samantaray during the occasion.

This is the annual festival of the Adi Guru Pankaj Charan Das Udra Sanskruti Academy (GPUSA). Pallavi Das, Odissi exponent, Guru and Managing Trustee of GPUSA intimated that this year they are celebrating the 99th birth anniversary of the Adi Guruji on October 31.

The cultural recitations in the first day include group performances by the students of GPUSA, Odissi solo by Dipsi Pattnaik, duet by Mehr Chahal and Archana of GPUSA, solo performance by Surjyanshi Mishra from Rourkela and a duet by Rose Lakra and Pradyumna Mohanta of GPUSA. The second day’s performances include solo mardala recital by Soumyaranjan Nayak, solo Odissi recital by Puspa Panda, solo Odissi dance by Biswabhusan Champatiray followed by solo Odissi dance by Jyotirmayee Das. The Adi Guru Pankaj Charan Das Award 2018 will be given on the second day. Das also intimated that eminent Odissi vocal exponent Guru Shri Keshab Chandra Rout and Dr. Sangita Gosain, chief executive of Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Center, will also grace the occasion.
