Adani-KISS Residential School inaugurated at Baripada

Baripada: Bolstering the facility of education for tribal children in Mayurbhanj district, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the Adani KISS Residential School at Bankishola here in Mayurbhanj district today.

While the KIIT and KISS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta remained present during the inaugural event, the chairman and founder of Adani Group Gautam Adani, chairperson of Adani Foundation Dr Priti Adani and CEO, Adani Ports & SEZ Ltd Karan Adani, Rajya Sabha MP Sarojini Hembram and local MLA Prakash Soren graced the occasion.

“It is a matter of extreme happiness that the KISS has today established a branch here with the assistance of Adani Group. We all know KISS had done a lot for the education of Scheduled Tribe children in the State. I thank the Adani Group and KISS foundation for their endeavour,” said Naveen.

“Education is the basis of development and my government is committed for the educational development of the tribal children in the State. A total of 6,500 hostels have been set up across the State for this purpose. Over 6 lakh students are currently pursuing their studies by staying in these hostels. Emphasis is being given on quality education in these hostels,” added Naveen.

The Adani-KISS Residential School has a capacity to enrol 1500 students in the first phase in Standard 1 to 12. They would be entitled to free education like that at KISS, Bhubaneswar. The school has been set up on an area of 15 acres.
