Actress Nikita Death: Police put up ‘latka’ at absconding in-laws’ house

Cuttack: Expediting the investigation process in Odia tele actress ‘Nikita’ death case,  the Twin City Commissionerate Police put up a ‘latka’ (notice) at the Gopalpur residence of her in-laws today, as they remain absconding.

The latka was issued against the parents-in-law telling them to surrender before police to cooperate in the investigation process, informed a police official.

Notably, earlier police issued a notice to the late actress’ parents-in-law telling them to depose, to which they are yet to respond and remain absconding to avoid arrest. Later, cops also conducted a raid at their Gopalpur residence but failed to find anybody there.

On the other hand, Nikita’s husband Lipan Sahu is currently cooling his heels at Choudwar Circle Jail. He had been sent on a 14-day after the Cuttack SDJM Court rejected his bail plea in the case on January 8.

Laxmipriya Behera alias Nikita sustained head injury after falling from the terrace of her parental home in Mahanadi Vihar on January 5. The incident took place during a scuffle with her husband over a family feud. She died at a private hospital in Cuttack the same day.

Family of the late actress alleged that she had been murdered by her husband following a scuffle. Nikita’s father has also lodged a case against her husband.
