Puri: Action has been taken against two police officers of Puri district in Odisha. The Sadar Police Station SI Atasi Jena has been suspended and the Krushna Prasad ASI has been arrested.
According to reports, the Sadar Police Station SI Atasi had raided a gambling den and seized huge amount of money but had not informed the IIC of the police station. The SP was suspended for this.
Similarly, the Krushna Prasad ASI Ishwar Chandra Gumansingh has been arrested for taking bribe from a food vendor.
The SDPO was tasked with investigating the bribery. He was arrested and charged with bribery.
