Sundergarh: Renowned educationist, Rajya Sabha MP and founder of KIIT and KISS Dr. Achyuta Samanta was felicitated by the tribal community in Bonai of the district here on Saturday.
Thousands of tribals welcomed Dr. Samanta with their traditional dance. Later, he visited the Hanuman and Shiva temples and sought the blessings of the deities.
He then addressed thousands of tribal people in a public meeting and motivated them to plant trees to maintain the green for their generation and the future generations.
The locals while felicitating Samanta, expressed their gratitude for providing free food and education to the tribal children of the state.
Later, the Rajya Sabha MP went to Rourkela and attended the 45th Convention of MD 322 of Lions Club International where he outlined his efforts at empowerment through education. He was also felicitated by the members of the Lions Club.
“Many thanks for inviting me as a Chief Guest and felicitating me. “We serve”, the motto of Lions Club is very powerful and has been the guiding principle of my life,” said Dr. Samanta.
