ACF Soumya Ranjan’s death: After Paralakhemundi DFO, now Gurandi Police Station OIC faces interrogation

Paralakhemundi: Interrogation of Officer In Charge (OIC) of Gurandi Police Station in Odisha’s Gajapati district regarding the mysterious death of Paralakhemundi Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) Soumya Ranjan began on Friday.

Questioning of Gurandi Police Station OIC, Mamata Panda, began after she arrived at Paralakhemundi Police Station this evening.

It is to be noted here that the family members of deceased Soumya Ranjan have alleged that Mamata, who is a relative of Soumya Ranjan’s wife Bidyabharti had stopped the ambulance where Soumya Ranjan was taken to hospital for over an hour.

They also had demanded that Mamata Panda should face interrogation and explain why she had blocked the emergency vehicle allegedly for more than an hour.

Earlier in the day, Parlakhemundi DFO Sangram Keshari Behera, one of the accused in the case, was interrogated by the cops during which he refuted the allegation of his affair with Soumya Ranjan’s wife Bidyabharti. He was interrogated for around three hours.
