ACF death mystery: Crime Branch reaches Kaptipada in Mayurbhanj to interrogate Bidyabharati

Mayurbhanj: A five member Crime Branch team has reached Kaptipada in Mayurbhanj district to interrogate deceased ACF Soumya Ranjan’s wife Bidyabharati. The team, led by Crime Branch DSP Gyanaranjan Mishra, will go to Bidyabharati’s house at Goudagaon for the interrogation.

Reports said that there two women officers of Crime against Women (CAW) Cell in the crime branch team. The officers will conduct the interrogation with the help of the local police.

Earlier on Wednesday, the crime branch team conducted a marathon interrogation of Soumya Ranjan’s family for almost three and a half hours followed by recording their statement.

As of now, the Crime Branch has interrogated 14 people regarding the mysterious death case.

It is to be noted here that Bidyabharti has been interrogated twice in relation with this case. On July 20, 2021, police had interrogated her for the first time over her husband’s suspicious death.

The Paralakhemundi ACF was rescued with severe burn injuries under mysterious circumstances from his official quarters in Paralakhemundi on July 12, 2021. Later, he succumbed on the next day.
