Sambalpur: An abandoned newborn baby girl was found near a roadside eatery in Rairakhol area in Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Monday morning.
According to reports, the owner of the eatery had heard the sound of the crying of the infant when he was opening his dhaba early this morning. He immediately started searching the baby and rescued her, who was lying abandoned behind his eatery.
The dhaba owner informed the locals about the incident and rushed the infant to the sub-divisional hospital in Rairakhol. Her health condition was stated to be stable when the last reports came in.
On being informed, local police reached the spot and started investigation into the matter.
“It is yet to ascertain the parents of the newborn baby girl and who had dumped the girl near the dhaba. Probe is on,” police said.
