Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday congratulated Aanchal Thakur, who became the first Indian to win a medal at an international skiing event in Turkey on Tuesday.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Patnaik said that the 21-year-old woman’s achievement will always stand tall among the shining ones in India’s sporting glory.

Aanchal Thakur, who hails from Manali in Himachal Pradesh, created history by becoming the first Indian to win Bronze in an international skiing event at the prestigious Alpine Ejder 3200 Cup organised by the Federation Internationale de Ski (FIS) — skiing’s international governing body — at the Palandoken Ski Centre in Erzurum in Turkey.
